Connect your first Roku

1. Connect your iPhone and Roku to the same Wi-Fi. Guest Wi-Fi and access-point isolation may block communication.
2. On Roku, open Settings → Network → About and note the IP address.
3. Open Settings → System → Advanced system settings → Control by mobile apps and enable Network access.
4. In RoomRay, tap Add Roku. Enter a name, room, IP address, and port 8060. Use Test Connection, then Add Device.
5. Allow Local Network access when iOS asks. If previously denied, enable it for RoomRay in iPhone Settings.

If your TV does not respond

Check that the Roku is awake, the IP address has not changed, and both devices are on the same network. Disable a VPN temporarily if it blocks local connections. Recheck the Roku Control by mobile apps setting. Edit the saved address and retest in RoomRay Settings.

Which controls are supported?

Navigation, Home, Back, Select, and Play/Pause use Roku's local control interface. Power and mute depend on the Roku model. Text input works only in compatible fields; app launch requires the app to be installed. A successful network request does not mean a streaming app supports every command.

Does RoomRay cast or mirror my screen?

No. This release focuses on Roku remote control and uses manual IP pairing. Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung, LG, Apple TV, automatic discovery, media casting, and screen mirroring are not supported.

Manage your data

Saved TV addresses, rooms, and preferences stay on your iPhone. Remove devices in RoomRay Settings or delete the app to remove its local data. See the privacy policy.
